God of laughter and of tears
We come together in the holy quiet of this hour to see ourselves as we are.
We come to clear our minds of those false images that we have lived.
We come for those insights necessary for the sane living in
a world that seems to have
lost it's head and it's heart.
Let us learn not to take ourselves too seriously.
Let us learn to be able to look at ourselves honestly.
Let us learn to laugh, to who and what we are.
Without self-degradation, without self-hatred. But with a spirit of charity which allows us
to forgive
ourselves.
May we learn to rejoice in the life that is ours despite the inevitable tragedy's that beset us.
May we learn to find in life something of the happiness that awaits those who can see it's joy even in the gloom of tragic times.
May we learn not to be afraid of humor when that humor is
whole and healthy and leads us to ourselves.
Oh God of laughter and of tears, of joy and sorrow, help us to
understand that nothing is too sacred for laughter.
nothing too sacred for humor. No-one exempt from their healing balm of the spirit.
Help us in this hour to release something of the laughter of
life that we might be whole
again.
