A PRAYER FOR A GRATEFUL ALCOHOLIC

Almighty God, we humbly pray,

Lead us and guide us through this day.

 

Cast out our selfishness and sin,

Open our hearts to let You in.

 

Help us now as we blindly stray,

Over the pitfalls along our way.

 

Let us have courage to face each task,

Invest us with patience and love, we ask.

 

Care for us through each hour today,

Strengthen and guard us now, we pray.

 

As we forgive--forgive us too,

Needing Your mercy as we do.

 

O God, we pray for loving care,

Knowing you will never abandon us to despair.

 

Yesterday’s wrong we will seek to right,

Make us more perfect in Your sight.

 

Oh, teach us to live the best we can,

Use us to help our fellow man.

 

Save us from acts of bitter shame,

We humbly ask this in Your name,

 Amen.

 

THERE’S A BEAUTIFUL DAY AT HAND

YESTERDAYS are past recall and things that happened then,

Are only shadowed memories we think of now and again…….

 

TOMORROWS never come they say, at best, they prove to be

Just promises of plans fulfilled and things we hope to see…….

 

TODAYS are riches close at hand, fresh pathways to explore,

New joys to lift our spirits high; what heart could ask for more.

 

So why relive those days gone by or look so far ahead?

Let’s cherish what we have right now and live TODAY INSTEAD!
