HER NAME IS RUBY
Written by Ruby’s
daughter..
Her name is Ruby and she’s my Mom,
She’s a lot like the woman described in the Psalm.
She loves the Lord and taught me too,
He fills her heart with gratitude.
The butterflies you see – all over the
place
remind her of Scripture and light up her face.
She takes care of herself and takes
care of my dad;
She makes chicken soup – the best I’ve had!
She sorts through her papers piled high
on a shelf,
She does more for others than she does for herself.
When asked, she will tell you just two
things she needs-
stamps for her letters and sunflower seeds.
She loves to fish – even baits her own
hook,
and after dad cleans them she takes them to cook.
To find her in a crowd – just look for
her hat,
She says she’s a character, but I like her like that!
She tries to stay positive and look for
the good;
She’ll back you up when no one else would.
She speaks in large rooms full of
people and chairs,
Then gives God the Glory for He put her there.
Her name is Ruby, this mother of mine;
She has learned to live, “One Day at a Time”.
